Noo Bad Ideas
Brainstorming is a creative process, one where you are supposed to think of as many ideas as possible. It's not about what is right or wrong, or how big or small.
To have an effective brainstorm the room should be comfortable - no interruptions and no noise. You should also be in a group where everyone feels like they can speak up and everyone has the same respect for each other. There should also be no judgment in the room and people should feel like they can go with their gut feeling on what they are saying.
The process of brainstorming is the goal to generate a large quantity of ideas. Bad ideas will lead to good ones that we would not otherwise have thought of on our own.
Creative ideas come from getting the brain in a relaxed state.
Here are some tips to help you have an effective brainstorm:
- Get out of your comfort zone and create a new atmosphere for yourself.
- Think about the problem from different perspectives.
- Write down all possible solutions, even if they seem silly or impossible.
- Just think of an idea and write it down, do not judge it!
There are no bad ideas...at least when it comes to Brainstorming. In this week’s episode of our podcast, we talk about how to have an effective brainstorm, what to say instead of "no", the importance of gathering ideas, and how a bad idea can lead to a good idea.
